GBPUSD TECHS: Bullish Set-Up

May-06 17:30
  • RES 4: 1.3868 High Jan 27 and a key bull trigger
  • RES 3: 1.3814 High Jan 30
  • RES 2: 1.3701 76.4% retracement of the Jan 27 - Mar 31 bear leg
  • RES 1: 1.3658 High May 01
  • PRICE: 1.3599 @ 16:43 BST May 6
  • SUP 1: 1.3460 50-day EMA
  • SUP 2: 1.3381 Low Apr 13
  • SUP 3: 1.3287/3159 Low Apr 8 / Low Mar 31 and the bear trigger
  • SUP 4: 1.3125 Low Nov 26 ‘25

Bullish trend conditions in GBPUSD remain intact and the pair is trading closer to its recent highs. A resumption of the uptrend would signal scope for an extension towards 1.3701, a Fibonacci retracement. Support to watch lies at 1.3460, the 50-day EMA. A clear break of it would be a bearish development and reinforce a recent potential bear threat highlighted by a death cross in MA studies (50-dma < 200-dma).
