Our Latam Week Ahead document highlights the major data releases and events scheduled across Latam next week. The document also includes the most pertinent macro developments over the past week.

  • In the week ahead, Argentina monthly CPI inflation is expected to have moderated further in June, although unhelpful base effects are likely to have lifted the annual rate slightly higher.
  • Elsewhere, Peru economic activity looks set to have remained around its potential rate in May, reinforcing expectations that the BCRP will remain on hold for now, with risks still tilted towards the possibility of a rate hike if inflation pressures rise further.
  • Meanwhile, Brazil economic growth is forecasted to have edged lower in May, which following on from recent softer-than-expected inflation data, would reinforce expectations that the BCB will deliver another Selic rate cut next month.
