Turkish inflation expectations continued to decline in July, Koc University Household Inflation Expectations Survey data showed on Friday, as year-end inflation expectations slowed from 67% in early June to 65% in the first weeks of this month, while inflation expectation for the 12-month period through July 2026 dipped from 63% to 61% over the same period.

April saw a slight rise in households’ assessment of price pressures following market reactions to the previous month’s political upheaval, since when the trend has been steadily downward. Inflation expectations for the past 12 months also declined, from 73% in June to 71% in July.

“In the annual, year-end, and 12-month-ahead inflation expectations, the mean values consistently exceed the medians. This indicates that while some individuals hold very high inflation expectations, they represent a relatively small portion of the population,” the survey’s authors said.
