MNI BRIEF: Miran Sworn In As Fed Board Governor By Judge

White House economic adviser Stephen Miran was sworn in Tuesday as a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, just before the start of a Federal Open Market Committee meeting that is expected to end in an interest rate cut.

The oath was administered by Judge Elizabeth L. Branch of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, according to a statement from the Fed. Miran's term as a member of the Board ends on January 31, 2026. (See: MNI INTERVIEW: US Growth, Jobs Poised For Rebound - Miran)

The September FOMC meeting started Tuesday at 10:30am ET.
