MNI BRIEF: Inflation Still Driving Firms' Pricing - BOE Mann

UK firms are continuing to consider the risk of inflation persistence in their price-setting behaviour, according to the Bank of England's Decision Makers Panel survey, Monetary Policy Committee member Catherine Mann said on Monday, adding that led her to oppose easing.

"Firms are continuing to incorporate CPI inflation into their one-year-ahead pricing strategy. And for me, as a decision maker, that means the underlying dynamic for inflation continues to show upside risk," she said at a conference at Kings Business School, so "not surprisingly, I was one of those who voted to hold" along with the majority in the last MPC meeting announced on Nov 6.
