Acting French Finance Minister Roland Lescure reiterated his country's commitment to getting its budget deficit below 3% of GDP by 2029 on Thursday.
Speaking ahead of a meeting of euro area finance minitsers, Lescure said France's 2026 budget would be "good; good for both the deficit and for growth." French growth would be around 0.7% this year and the budget deficit at 5.4% of GDP, he added.
Talks on forming a new government following the resignation of Sebastian Corneau were making progress, he added.
