The Federal Reserve will continue to cut rates but "not as much as people have priced in throughout 2026," Former New York Fed President William Dudley said on Tuesday.

Speaking at a UBS conference in London, Dudley said that he expects inflation to remain at or above 3% over the next few years, while financial conditions are boosting growth by up to one percentage point.

It is unclear if current policy is restrictive, he said, although in his view it is likely not. (see MNI INTERVIEW: Case For Dec Fed Cut Uncertain - Lockhart )
