China will focus on stabilising the real-estate market with city-specific policies, highlighting housing support to encourage marriage and childbirth, according to the Government Work Report delivered by Premier Li Qiang during the opening session of the National People's Congress in Beijing on Thursday.
Cities will control the number of new property projects, reduce housing inventory, and improve supply, along with measures to utilise housing stock such as turning it into government-subsidised housing. (See MNI: China’s Property Market To Continue Decline Over 2026)
Authorities will also boost housing support for first-time married couples and those with their first child and help families with children meet their needs for better housing, the report said.
