MNI BRIEF: China Likely To Keep 4.5-5% Growth For Next 5 Yrs

China is expected to keep 4.5-5% growth annually in the next five years, or during the Fifth-Five Year Plan period, building up a solid foundation for achieving the country’s 2035 goal of doubling the size of its economy from 2020 levels, Zhu Guangyao, former deputy minister of finance said in Beijing on Friday.

Speaking at the Mingde Strategic Dialogue 2025 held by the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Renmin University of China, Zhu said annual growth this year will be around 5%, which means the total GDP will reach CNY140 trillion. (See MNI: China Advisors Eye 4.8% Q3 GDP Amid Slowing Momentum
