China will impose an extra 15% tariff on U.S. coal and liquified natural gas imports from February 10, the Ministry of Finance said on Tuesday

An additional 10% charge will be applied to shipments of crude oil, agricultural machinery and some automobiles, the Ministry added.

Washington’s decision to impose a 10% tariff on all Chinese goods violates World Trade Organization rules and undermines trade cooperation between the two countries, a statement from the Ministry said.

Beijing will fight U.S. tariffs in a reasonable, forceful and moderated manner against any tariff hikes while following WTO principles, a policy advisor told MNI (See MNI INTERVIEW: China Preps For U.S. Tariffs, 10% Manageable)
