MNI BRIEF: BOE Must Signal Consistency, Not Hike Rates - Mann

The Bank of England should not consider rate hikes even if inflation expectations persist as policymakers need to send a consistent signal to market participants, Monetary Policy Committee member Catherine Mann said on Thursday.

"I don't think it's a good idea for monetary policy to hike, hold, cut, hike," Mann said in a Q&A after a speech at the Resolution foundation on Thursday. "That's a policy Boogie dance."
