China's logistics industry prosperity index rose to 50.9% in August, up 0.5 percentage points from July, Securities Daily reported citing data released by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing. Total business volume stayed in the expansion range for four consecutive months, while new orders recorded the sixth consecutive month of increase. Manufacturers’ logistic demand increased in electrical machinery, pharmaceutical, automobile and parts, and electronic components, as well as consumers’ demand for electronics upgrades, home furnishing replacements, and new school-related purchases, the newspaper said.
