A bull cycle in WTI futures remains intact and the contract has traded to a fresh cycle high today, reinforcing current bullish conditions. Recent gains have also resulted in a break of key resistance at $91.27, the May 18 high. This confirms a resumption of the medium-term uptrend and sights are set on a bull channel resistance at $96.52. The channel is drawn from the Jul 2 low. Initial support to watch is $85.43, the 20-day EMA. The initial move down last this week in Gold resulted in a breach of the 50-day EMA, currently at $4347.8. However, the metal has recovered and the EMA, as a support, remains intact. A clear break of the average would signal a stronger reversal and highlight scope for an extension towards $4231.1, a Fibonacci retracement. Moving average studies are in a bull mode position highlighting an uptrend. The bull trigger is $4696.8, the Aug 25 high.
