The head of Libya’s NOC rejected the prime ministers sacking this week which has led to a power struggle for control of the country’s oil producer.

  • Mustafa Sanalla announced his rejection of the decision in a recorded speech released on social media outlets.
  • The government sent armed forces to the NOC building Sanalla was at later in the day according to reports.
  • “I am present in the corporation and work continues. All the decisions are invalid and your government has expired,” Sanalla said in his speech
  • The House Energy and Natural Resources Committee of HoR has released statement stressing the legitimacy of Sanalla and the neutrality of the oil sector.
  • Sada newspaper has reported that Sanella continues to work from the NOC building today despite being stormed by armed forces.
